how to transfer itunes music from mac to pc

(Yeah, I know this was a little risky but it worked for years without incident.) When OSX went to the Music app, this option no longer seems to work reliably. When the old iTunes OSX app was current, I had pretty good success keeping the media folder in Dropbox and accessing it from both computers, as long as I didn’t open both apps at the same time. Given the number of stories I’ve heard of people’s collections disappearing when they activate Apple Music Match or whatever they call it now, I really want to avoid that, (and I’m not really interested in another monthly fee anyway.) I’ve got a collection of about 30,000 tracks, mostly from my own CDs but some from online purchases and a number from out of print LP records I own. I'm in a pinch with this issue! 😟 I cant seem to find a recent article on this anywhere that has exactly what I need to understand my next steps.So, I’ve been researching this topic for a while now with no satisfactory solutions, so I figured I’d ask here…ĭoes anyone have a good solution for keeping an iTunes library in sync acros two computers - my laptop and desktop - that doesn’t involve Apple Music’s syncing service (which by all reports is still a bit of disaster.) So, based on the folders above what folders do I copy from the MAC library to the PC lilbrary and will I need to delete anything that is currently in the PC library? I synch both an iPhone and an iPad using my current MAC but I have to completely move my personal media off the 'work' mac book to a windows 7 PC. I suppose this makes sense since this library was created a long time ago and maybe Itunes keeps old copies?

I have previous iTunes library folder in my MAC but no corresponding folder on the PC. Have an empty iTunes Music folder in the MAC library and there isnt one at all in the PC library.Ģ. I just completed a fresh install of Itunes onto my PC and when I compare the iTunes folder structures between the two (MAC and PC), there are a few differences.ġ. I am wanting to transfer from Mavericks to Windows 7 PC.I have copied the entire MAC Itunes Library from my MAC to the desktop of my PC. I appreciate in advance any and all help I recieve from this post!!. You seem knowledgable and I would like to ask for yours or the communities help with my similiar problem.
